Some months have gone by since my last post about crowdsourcing and I would like to seize on the opportunity offered by the last post published in Interbrand’s blog. This post is entitled ‘Gapastrophe: the overwhelming response to GAP’s new logo’ and the most noteworthy aspect for me is not the fact that the new logo has had a terrible reception, but the companies reaction. GAP decided to accept the criticism and… has encouraged its customers to send their own proposals!
Obviouslly I do not know if the final logo will be chosen among the new ones submited by GAP’s customers, but an initiative like this would have not been expected just some years ago.
Beyond all doubt the world has changed, folks. Brands no longer belong to companies. Brands belong to us.
